We were on a family hike when I spotted this flower lying in the dirt, surrounded by twigs and dead leaves.
A closer inspection revealed that this flower is actually a hair accessory, with a little rubber band hidden behind the fading petals.
It looked sad and lost, maybe cast aside or forgotten, which is the feeling I get when I look at this photo.
Pingback: Solitude: Sunny Side | What's (in) the picture?
A flower that has fallen about a day earlier. It is still looking fresh, but in a few days, it is going to dry. That is what happens to anyone found in solitude; whether the person is alone or in the midst of the crowd.
